  • Positivity Journal

A public journal to retrain myself to think more positive.

    Every day I will:
    - 1) Write Down 3 Things I'm Thankful For
    - 2) Write Down 3 Negative Thoughts That Pop Into My Head, And A More Positive Interpretation To Replace It
    - 3) Write Down 3 Things I Think Others Like About Me
    - 4) Write Down 3 Positive Self Affirmations

If anybody wants to tag along on this daily exercise, feel free to use my thread, and join me

    I'm thankful for:
    - My drive to succeed
    - My health
    - My family

    Negative Thought Reframes:
    - I have social anxiety - There is no way for me to compare my anxiety to other humans, for all I know we all feel the same thing, what I can do is change bad habits of handling it to good habits of handling it
    - The world is dark - Dark is a judgement call, it's an opinion based on looking at things just one way, I could just as easily focus on the good, and say the world is a great place
    - Women are sexist - This is a recent thought from watching redpill videos, there is nothing in my day to day interactions with women that suggest some abnormal sexism, we all have a biased, but women are not a bunch of extremists

    What Others Like About Me:
    - I have an intellectually creative mind
    - My drive & passion for greater things
    - My ability to have deep & personal conversations

    Affirmations:
    - I'm disciplined, focused, & excited about life
    - I'm an executor, I always execute
    - I don't know what it is, but the ladies just love me

More powerful imo, is to share some positive actions. Even small stuff like tidying your room or showering more regularly.

    I'm thankful for:
    - The baddest bitches in the land
    - Having a home
    - Humanity & not being alone on earth

    Negative Thought Reframes:
    - The world is fucked up - Focus on being the solution, vs. engaging in the problem
    - Hostile thoughts about PUA instructors teaching b.s. - Everyone is different & entitled to their own personal truth, just because another man speaks his truth doesn't mean I should treat it as a universal truth, it's my responsibility to make that distinction & live my personal truth
    - My game sucks - Do something about it

    What Others Like About Me:
    - Laid back vibe
    - Loyal friend
    - Good hearted

    Affirmations:
    - I've mastered my game
    - I'm a confident individual
    - I love the females in my life

Thanks for the tip I will implement that immediately. If anything it will bring awareness to things I'm already doing vs. just focusing on the negative.

            I'm thankful for:
            - The movie Father Figures, it was a good movie
            - My pet bearded dragon
            - My friends

            Negative Thought Reframes:
            - This positivity journal may be a waste of time, I don't think it's doing anything for me - Test it for a little while longer, it's only been 5 days
            - I overthink things - Make "yes" or "no" decisions vs. "maybe" "I might" decisions, keep the plans simple & straightforward, take massive action
            - Having anxiety - I broke down my pick up goals into more digestible chunks which made me a lot less anxious when I went out

            What Others Like About Me:
            - I can be pretty disciplined when I set my mind on something
            - My relentless pursuit for what I want
            - My vision and the ability to inspire others

            Affirmations:
            - I make decisions quickly & with certainty, my goals are simple & describable in a phrase or sentence, my action on my goals is massive, consistent, backed up by long term focus & patience
            - When I think about my goals, tasks, & dreams, I think with certainty, I think in terms of "yes I will do it or no I won't", "I am doing it or I'm not", I don't say "I should do it" or "I might do it"
            - Getting good at pick up is simple, I focus on one habit until it's habitual & emotionally easy to do, than I move to the next habit, I practice consistently, long term, with patience

            Positive Actions I Took:
            - Got back on track with this journal, after skipping yesterday
            - I'm on Day 5 of NoFap
            - Replaced my wording of uncertainty ("maybe, might, should") with certainty ("am, will, yes, no") when talking about my goals & tasks

** going forward with this journal, I will change the affirmation section to re-posting the same affirmations over & over again, and actually reading them daily, vs. random positive affirmations every day, in addition I will only use affirmations I am taking seriously and truly want to adopt in my day to day life. Starting with the affirmations in this post **

Cool, maybe less copying, since the act of writing something is affirming in itself? No need to make each post very long, right?
Maybe less reference to 'being positive' and more just being positive? E.g. maybe better to have just a "journal", in which you happen to write from a positive frame, rather than calling it a positivity journal? Just some ideas
